Another day in bed

7:00 Woke up after 7 hours of sleep. No fever this morning but it came back during the day. Me and my husband got our daughter ready for school today. Then I went to bed and my husband took her to school and then went to work.

9:30 Breakfast: Swedish crispbread, cheese and avocado, cherry tomatoes and two cups of green tea.

13:40 Lunch: Bulgur, tuna, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, corn, Parmesan cheese, avocado and a vinaigrette.

15:30 My husband and our daughter came home.

Throughout the day I had lots of tea and water.

My husband took our daughter to ballet lesson.

7:00 Woke up after more than 8 hours of sleep. Still too sick to get out of bed. My husband got my daughter ready and to school.

11:20 Brunch: Fried eggs and bread, with a glass of orange juice.

12:05 Walked to school to bring my daughter home from school. This turned out to be too soon. My husband also came to school from work by car. When our daughter came we took the car home. In the afternoon my husband took our daughter to her ballet lesson.

15:25 Snack: Tomato soup and some potato chips. I was really craving something salty.

Slowly getting better

Yesterday I was too sick to post. Fever and pain everywhere. Stayed in bed all day.

7:05 Woke up after more than 8 hours of sleep. Didn’t feel nauseous until I got up. Still had fever, so that meant one more day in bed. My husband got our daughter ready for school.

10:25 Went downstairs (the cat was happy to see me!) to make myself some breakfast: Mini Tortillas, one with salami and avocado and one with cheese and avocado. Green tea and orange juice.

13:30 Lunch: A little bit of pasta and cheese.

ShayLoss September is over

Goal 1: Run 3 times per week. Watch what I eat and hopefully lose some weight, but the main objective was to get into a routine of running and eating better.

Result: 1,579 active minutes. I ran 3 times a week for 3 of the weeks in September, then I got sick. When I get better I will start running again. I lost 2.4 kg.

Goal 2: Financial goal. This month me and my husband were trying to save enough money to buy tickets to go to Sweden during the fall vacation and for Christmas.

Result: And we did. The tickets are bought and we managed to save 80 euro extra, just by paying attention to how we were spending our money.

Goal 3: Declutter and organize our home. We wanted to spend 15 minutes every night doing this.

Result: We didn’t do it every night but we spent more than 7 hours decluttering our attic. We have donated and thrown away a lot of things. We also found things that we have been looking for. Feels really good and we will continue doing this until we have done every room in the house.

ShayLoss September Day 30 – Staying in bed (almost) all day

9:00 Woke up feeling the same as the last few days: sore throat, achy joints and headache. Decided to stay in bed today.

10:25 My husband brought me breakfast in bed: Swedish crispbread with liver pate, cherry tomatoes and a banana. I also had some green tea.

13:30 Lunch: Spaghetti with salami and cheese and a side salad (mixed leaf salad with cherry tomatoes and garlic-mustard dressing).

Throughout the day I did some laundry.

18:45 Dinner: Spaghetti tricolore with homemade Bolognese sauce (minced meat, garlic, carrots, onion, celery, tomato paste, canned tomatoes, paprika powder, turmeric and Italian herbs). Parmesan cheese on top.

ShayLoss September Day 29 – Birthday BBQ

8:20 Woke up after 7.5 hours of sleep, because I had a sore throat and felt feverish. Took my temperature only to discover that it was 35.5 degrees Celsius. I’m not really sure why it happens, but it happens to me sometimes. Stayed in bed with extra blankets trying to warm up.

10:45 Went downstairs for my weekly weigh-in. The fourth week of September I had 343 active minutes and lost 0.2 kg.

10:55 Breakfast: Mini tortillas with pesto and salami with a glass of orange juice.

11:55 Lunch: Omelet with chestnut mushrooms, onion, paprika powder, turmeric and Parmesan cheese with a mixed leaf salad and cherry tomatoes.

Went to my daughter’s swimming lesson, this time we got to stay and watch. My daughter didn’t want to go in the water, she just wanted to sit with me.

After the lesson we went home and I had a long warm bath, then we got ready and went to our friends that were celebrating their birthday with a BBQ.

18:10 Dinner: I had a hamburger with pasta salad, potato salad, carrots, BBQ sauce and bread. I had a glass of rosé wine.

When we got home we put our daughter in bed and then me and my husband had some tea.

ShayLoss September Day 28 – Working on my goals

7:00 Woke up after 6.5 hours of sleep. Couldn’t get out of bed before 7:30. Got my daughter ready for school. Postponed my breakfast.

8:20 Walked to school with my daughter.

9:20 Breakfast: Bread with liver pate and cherry tomatoes and a cup of green tea.

11:35 Walked to school to bring my daughter home. We stayed for 20 minutes so she could play on the playground at the school.

13:10 Lunch: Spaghetti tricolore with avocado, smoked chicken, cherry tomatoes and feta cheese.

In the afternoon we watched Madagascar and I did some laundry. I also worked for one hour on one of my goals.

18:15 Dinner: Fish sticks with green beans and bulgur with a roasted pepper sauce (roasted peppers and Greek yoghurt).

When our daughter went to sleep me and my husband folded all the dry laundry and worked on one of our goals for 45 minutes.

We ended the night downstairs with some tea watching “the voice of Holland”.

Today I drank a lot of tea and two glasses of orange juice.
